Revolutionary Tablets to Treat Low Sperm Count: What You Need to Know

Men with low sperm counts may benefit from hormone-based treatment, and supplements to boost sperm count and quality.


Folate is essential in supporting red blood cell health and helping sperm development. You can find it in foods like dark leafy vegetables and whole grains.


SSRIs have been linked with decreased sperm count and motility. Examples include fluoxetine, paroxetine and sertraline medications.




Folate:


Folate is an essential B vitamin required for DNA synthesis and transfer RNA production as well as protein synthesis. Folate also plays a significant role in spermatogenesis as an essential cofactor and acts as an effective antioxidant, making its presence abundantly available across food products such as leafy greens, tomatoes and avocadoes as well as many fortified cereals and breads.


Studies on the effects of folate and zinc supplements on male sperm characteristics have produced mixed results. A meta-analysis revealed an increase in concentration and motility with folate/zinc supplementation; however, other trials did not observe this result.


Folic acid and magnesium can both play an essential role in increasing sperm count, but other essential vitamins that could boost it include zinc. Vitamin B12:


Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient, known to aid in healthy sperm production and motility. This vitamin can be found in meat, dairy products, fish and eggs as well as being available as a dietary supplement and used to increase sperm count for men with low motility or motility issues. Research shows it to improve motility while simultaneously decreasing DNA damage and raising testosterone levels in men.


Testosterone plays a central role in male fertility, yet recent studies have demonstrated its decline among many individuals. Many factors contribute to this decrease, including poor nutrition. Vitamin B12 is essential in producing reproductive hormones and producing sperm; thus affecting fertility as a result.

Ashwagandha:


Ashwagandha has long been used in traditional medicine to treat various conditions. It's well-known for boosting testosterone levels and improving sperm count and libido, while simultaneously acting as a natural aphrodisiac to reduce stress-related symptoms. Furthermore, testosterone deficiency may contribute to sexual dysfunction so raising it through supplementation or diet is crucial in improving sexual function.


Recent research demonstrating the efficacy of high concentration, full spectrum root extract of Ashwagandha to significantly boost sperm count was recently conducted by researchers, who randomly assigned 46 oligospermic men into either a treatment group (225 mg of KSM-66 Ashwagandha Root Extract three times daily for 12 weeks) or placebo group and then assessed parameters related to reproductive health such as sperm count, motility and serum reproductive hormone levels.


Maca root is another herb known to increase sperm count. Studies have demonstrated its effectiveness at improving libido and fertility among men with low testosterone levels, as well as decreasing symptoms associated with erectile dysfunction. Maca root contains iron which is vital to overall sperm health.


Maca root:


Maca root, which grows wild in Peru's Andes Mountains, is often taken as a dietary supplement to improve sexual properties. Scientific studies have proven its ability to increase libido and stimulate reproductive organs while improving semen quality; tablets or powder forms of maca can be purchased commercially; recently conducted studies reported increased sperm count and motility for men who took maca for three months.


Due to low sample sizes and methodological limitations, however, the results of this study may not be definitive. Additional research with larger samples sizes and more rigorous RCTs should be undertaken in order to ascertain whether maca is indeed effective at improving semen quality. Furthermore, dosage and duration should also be carefully observed, as both factors could have an effect on clinical unani medicine for male fertility.


Antioxidants:


Antioxidants are substances used to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS), produced as byproducts of metabolic processes in the human body. ROS have the ability to damage individual cells, tissues, organs and even kill them; however, our bodies are well equipped with antioxidants to scavenge these oxidants before they cause irreparable harm.


Under normal circumstances ROS do not pose a problem to male fertility but excessive free radicals may interfere with fluidity of sperm membrane and thus affect motility and morphology.


Researchers have discovered that taking oral antioxidant supplements can significantly increase sperm concentration, motility and morphology for subfertile men with high levels of DNA fragmentation in their semen.


Furthermore, these treatments increased the number of sperm with large halos; L-carnitine, omega 3 fatty acid and coenzyme Q10 proved particularly successful treatments while selenium and vitamin E also demonstrated some reduction in DNA fragmentation rate. Their findings have been published in a Cochrane review.


Polyunsaturated fats:


Polyunsaturated fats, defined as any carbon chain with two or more double bonds, are considered healthful fats that provide many advantages to health and fertility. A recent study concluded that high consumption of polyunsaturated fats was linked with improved fertility measures like sperm count and motility.


Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant and protector of sperm membrane lipids, increasing motility while normalizing their morphology. It may be combined with other antioxidants like selenium and coenzyme Q10 for maximum effectiveness.
